HIT Entertainment has secured a raft of new international home entertainment and publishing licensees for its popular CG-animated preschool series Mike the Knight.
European licensees for home entertainment (DVD) include Lusomundo (Portugal), Cass (Poland), Svensk Filmindustri (Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark) and OTC (Benelux).
Licensees jumping on-board for publishing in Europ include Memphis Belle for Benelux (storybooks, annuals, novelty board books), Hemma for Benelux (colouring and activity books), MSZ for Poland, Romania and Hungary (all format books and a monthly magazine), and Buster Nordic for Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland (all format books).
In Germany, deals inked by agent SuperRTL and HIT include Sony Music (home entertainment), Panini (kindergarten/friends books, sticker books and a magazine), Egmont (story books, activity books), and Nelson/Carlson (early reading books, magnet books, large format picture books and mini books).
Mike the Knight (52 x 12 minutes) is co-produced with Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Studio. The latest deals come on the heels of Discovery Kids Latin America snapping up the series. HIT is also finalizing plans with sister company Fisher-Price to market and manufacture a global toy range for the IP (excluding the UK and Japan) for 2013.
